This folder contains correspondence, memoranda, and notes concerning Clifford's interactions with General Wilton B. Persons, the Eisenhower administration's transition liaison. Topics include staff clearances, the appointment of aides, arrangements for employees to remain in the White House Office, daily operations requiring prompt attention, an overview of documentation prepared by the previous administration, arrangements for the transfer of responsibilities, office space, and budgetary matters. Also included are discussion topics for meetings between Kennedy and Eisenhower, a list of topics to be covered in transition memoranda, and miscellaneous notes by Clifford. The folder contains a few copies of Eisenhower administration documents dating back to 1953.
