It will be housed in the high-bay area of the School's new Bioastronautics-Biodynamics Laboratory -- one of six new buildings dedicated today by President John F. Kennedy. The simulator has motor powered inertia rings mounted on the axis of roll, pitch and yaw. They permit the 10 foot diameter non-transparent fiberglass sphere to rotate at speeds up to 18 rpm. Air-mounted, the simulator is unique in that it provides a much greater freedom of motion for a longer period of time than any currently available simulator. PHOTO: NORTHRUP SPACE LABORATORIES.
