This file contains copies of Senator John F. Kennedy’s speech given at a public rally at the Hotel Theresa in Harlem, New York City during his 1960 presidential campaign. In his speech the Senator compares his record on civil rights legislation to the record of Vice President Richard M. Nixon, and discusses the role of the United States as a model of a free and Democratic society.
