Also included are memoranda regarding a rescission of Executive Order 8683, under which the United States Navy exercised entry control into the Guam Island Naval Defensive Sea and Airspace Reservation.

This folder contains a transcript of a press conference given by President-elect John F. Kennedy and Congressman Stewart L. Udall at the Hotel Carlyle in New York City. President-elect Kennedy begins the press conference by announcing the appointment of Congressman Udall as Secretary of the Interior and is followed with a statement by Secretary-designate Udall. The President-elect and Secretary-designate go on to answer questions from the press on a variety of topics including the economy, Native American affairs, recreational resources, and other Cabinet appointments.
