In his speech President Kennedy discusses the contemporary relevance of General Kazimierz Pulaski’s efforts in the American Revolution, noting Poland’s role in the Cold War. The President describes the Soviet Union’s domination as temporary, and notes that in order to prevent the spread of communism, the United States must enact policies of economic flexibility and strengthen the links that connect Poland to Western nations.
