Kennedy’s speech titled, “The Politician and the Author: A Plea for Greater Understanding,” at the National Book Award ceremony in New York City. In his speech the Senator discusses the shared histories of politicians and literary artists, and the similarities and rivalries between the two professions. Of note are several drafts with notations by the Senator.
