Dictation Belt 27C contains two sound recordings. The recording of the conversation in item 27C.1 begins on Dictation Belt 27B. Item 27C.1 is a telephone conversation held on October 12, 1963, between President John F. Kennedy and Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson of Canada. They discuss a labor issue involving the United States and Canada and Canadian legislation. Most of Prime Minister Pearson’s remarks are inaudible. Machine noise follows the conversation. Item 27C.2 is a recording of fragmentary exchanges on October 12, 1963, between President John F. Kennedy, Personal Secretary Evelyn Lincoln, and an unidentified man. Most of the recording is unintelligible. This is not a telephone conversation, but rather exchanges recorded when the telephone was left off the hook. It is a very poor quality recording.Transcript included. Each item listed above is also available individually as an excerpt derived from this full-length digitized recording.
