Independence Day celebration in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 4, 1962. President John F. Kennedy is seated on the platform. Policemen are standing in front of the platform, and people are taking photographs of the occasion. Behind the seated group is an American flag. "Di Silvestro" is inscribed on the inside of the folio in which the photograph was sent to the White House. The photograph is accompanied by a letter addressed to Special Consultant to the President Honorable Carmine S. Bellino from Anthony J. Di Silvestro dated August 7, 1962, which states that two copies of a photograph taken by his wife on July 4, 1962, are enclosed. Mr. Di Silvestro asks if the President wouldn't mind autographing and returning one of the copies of the photograph.
