Sound recording of President John F. Kennedy’s remarks to participants in Operation Crossroads Africa on the White House South Lawn. In his speech President Kennedy describes Operation Crossroads Africa as a predecessor of the Peace Corps, and discusses the importance of volunteer efforts to improve health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure in developing countries.
