Description
Silent motion picture covering the arrival at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland of Captains John R. McKone and Freeman Olmstead after being held in Russia since their RB-47 aircraft was shot down over the Barents Sea. Captains McKone and Olmstead alight from a C-121 aircraft, receive greetings from President John F. Kennedy, their wives and relatives, Major General Arnold H. Luehman, Secretary of the Air Force Eugene Zuckert, and Base Commander Colonel William T. Smith. Materials in this series were created, commissioned, or collected by the United States Air Force.
