Description
Sound recording of the radio program "Face Off." Senator Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy of Massachusetts and Senator Alan K. "Al" Simpson of Wyoming discuss the recent release of four Irish defendants (the "Guildford Four") who were wrongly convicted of bombings carried out by the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) in England in 1974. They also debate British justice for the "Birmingham Six," who were also convicted of bombings and given sentences of life imprisonment. The episode aired on Monday, December 25, 1989, on the Mutual Broadcasting System.
